Gopalganj Eid main congregation held at Municipal Eidgah Ground

On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the main Eid congregation was held today, Monday at 8:00 AM at Gopalganj Municipal Eidgah Ground.
Participating in the Eid congregation, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman, in his greetings speech, said that considering the convenience of those who came from far and wide to join the main Eid congregation at Gopalganj’s Eidgah, the development work on the Tekarhat-Ghonapara road—known as Gopalganj’s lifeline—is being carried out at a rapid pace. He expressed hope that the road construction work would be completed on time.
In his pre-prayer speech, the Imam of Gopalganj Court Mosque and the Imam of the Eid congregation, Mufti Maulana Hafizur Rahman, called for an end to the indiscriminate killing of ordinary people in Palestine even on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr and urged world powers to come forward to alleviate the suffering of the living and the injured.
Among others who participated in the Eid congregation were District Police Superintendent Md. Mizanur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer M. Rakibul Hasan, Executive Engineer of Gopalganj Roads and Highways Department Md. Azharul Islam, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Rasel Munshi, former Gopalganj District BNP President Sirajul Islam Siraj, Executive Officer of Gopalganj Municipality H. M. Rakibul Islam, former Vice-President of Gopalganj District BNP and journalist Mohammad Mahmud Kabir Ali, and media worker K. M. Saifur Rahman, among others.
After the two rakats of optional Eid prayers, Mufti Maulana Hafizur Rahman, the Imam of Gopalganj Court Mosque and the Eid congregation, conducted prayers for the liberation of the Palestinian people, the prosperity and well-being of the nation, and world peace. Around 10,000 devout Muslims participated in the main Eid congregation at Gopalganj Municipal Eidgah Ground. To ensure the smooth conduct of the Eid congregation, under the overall supervision of Gopalganj Municipal Administrator and Deputy Director of the Local Government Division, Bishwajit Kumar Paul, the district police and various levels of law enforcement officials and members provided comprehensive support.
Besides, Eid congregations were held in Gopalganj’s Muksudpur, Kashiani, Kotalipara, and Tungipara upazilas with the participation of thousands of worshippers.
