Journalist tortture : Corrupt UP chairman arrested in Amtali

Police arrested Md Akhtaruzzaman Badal Khan, chairman of Chawra Union Parishad, Joint General Secretary of the corrupt Amtali Upazila Awami League Awami League. He was arrested from an orphanage in Patakata on Thursday night. He was sent to jail through the Amtali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Friday. The arrest of him has been joy among the Awami League, the BNP and the common people. They demanded severe punishment for Badal Khan.
Barguna Press Club General Secretary Abu Jafar Saleh said that Akhtaruzzaman Badal Khan Awami League has created a barrier to the professional duties of journalists in the past by influence of party, black money and muscle power. Even when it comes to collecting information against his misdeeds, journalists have multiple incidents of physically abusing. Black money and party influence were the main driving force of his activities. He demanded the punishment of journalist torturer Badal Khan.
It is learnt that Akhtaruzzaman Badal Khan, the Awami League joint general secretary of Amtali Upazila, became the chairman of the Chaora Union Parishad through the vote rigging in the 21st. Then the black money and the Awami League were involved in the influence of the party and got involved in various misdeeds. Jewel Madbar of Patakata village of Chawra alleged that journalists, BNP leaders and ordinary people were tortured. His party leaders were not saved from his torture. He has been assaulted and beaten at least hundreds of people in the last 5 years. When he went against his opinion, he would come down on him and harassed false cases. During the Awami League rule, he was a godfather of Amtali, Zaheer Matubbar. He was the cause of all the wrongdoing, including land grabbing, canal occupation, tendering, occupation, recruitment trade and market occupation.
He was led by former Chhatra League president Mahbubul Islam and Mohibullah Kiran. Bashir Uddin of North Ghatkhali village alleged that they had established the reign of terror in the area under his direction. He is also alleged to have embezzled more than Tk 1 crore for the construction of multiple bridges and digging canals. He is against the ACC. But the Awami League influenced the investigation of the case. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina on August 8, most of the Awami League leaders fled but did not escape. It is alleged that he has been walking freely for the last six months under the umbrella of some influential leaders of the upazila. Many BNP leaders are reluctant to be named after the police administration did not dare to take action against him. He was accused of vandalizing the BNP's party office on August 7 last year. But he took bail from the court in the wake of those BNP leaders. There are further allegations that he is conducting his activities in different areas of Chawra Union in the mammal of the influential leaders of the BNP. He was the chief guest at the traditional religious ceremony of an orphanage in the Patakata area of Chawra Union on Thursday night. On receiving the news, the leaders of the Chawara Union BNP and the organizing organization arrested him at the ashram. Police later arrested him. Police sent him to jail through the Amtali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Friday afternoon. The arrest of Badal Khan is celebrating between the BNP, the Awami League and the common people. They demanded severe punishment for Badal Khan.
Amtali Government College Chhatra Dal president Eman Mia said Badal Khan is a godfather of terrorists. The common man was not saved by the oppression of his terrorist forces. Even though he goes against his opinion, he is harassing the common man with beating and false cases. He demanded his severe punishment.
Chawra Union Jubo Dal member secretary Akhtarul Islam said the Awami League could not sleep at home in 5 years. Badal Khan has been harassed with a false case. He also said that Badal and his terrorist forces had tortured me several times. He needs to be severely punished. He also said that Badal is still in the area despite such unfair persecution. This has happened because of some BNP leaders.
Former convener of the Chawara Union Jubo Dal Momen Akon said, "A month after the fall of fascist Sheikh Hasina, Badal Khan's cousin, Chhatra League terrorist Mahbubul Islam, has been seriously injured by me." These have also been done by Badal Khan. He also said that Badal Khan was the victim of all the wrongdoing, including the occupation, tender trade and recruitment trade. The police administration was also silent to take action against Badal Khan. He demanded his severe punishment.
Barguna District Journalist Torture Prevention Committee President. Ghulam Mostafa Kader said that multiple journalists were tortured and abused Akhtaruzzaman Badal Khan need to be severely punished. He also said that if the affected journalists want legal action against Badal Khan, legal action will be taken at no cost.
Amtali Police Station OC Md. Ariful Islam Arif said he was arrested in the municipality office on August 7 last year. He was sent to jail through the Amtali Senior Judicial Court on Friday.
