ACC files case against 6 officials of Jamuna Fertilizer Factory for embezzling Tk 30 cr .

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case in court against six officials, including the dismissed commercial manager, Wayesur Rahman, in connection with the embezzlement of fertilizer worth around Tk 300 million from the Tarakandi Jamuna Fertilizer Factory in Sarishabari, Jamalpur.
Jamalpur ACC Combined District Office Deputy Director Malay Kumar Saha confirmed the matter on Thursday evening.
The remaining accused in the case are Jamuna Fertilizer Factory's Associate Manager (Commercial) Md. Main Uddin, Deputy Assistant Technical Officer/Shift Head Md. Harun-or-Rashid, Deputy Assistant Technical Officer Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Assistant Sales Officer Bazlur Rashid Khan and retired General Manager (Commercial) Khokon Chandra Das.
The case states that the accused, in collusion with each other, misused their power and provided false information to embezzle 18,916.45 metric tons of urea fertilizer from Jamuna Fertilizer Company Ltd. located in Tarakandi, Pogaldigha Union, Sarishabari Upazila, Jamalpur. The official value of which is 29 crore 95 lakh 97 thousand 352.24 taka. Therefore, a case was filed against the accused under Sections 409/420/109 of the Penal Code and Section 5 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act No. 2 of 1947.
Md. Iqbal Hossain, Deputy Director of Kishoreganj ACC Integrated District Office, filed the case against six people in the Jamalpur court on April 8.
IJamalpur ACC Integrated District Office Deputy Director Malay Kumar Saha said, "The ACC had been investigating the matter for a long time, and filed the case after various allegations were proven. Now we will bring the criminals to justice through the court."
