Insult of Rajbari Municipality accountant protested by officials

The Rajbari Municipal Employees' Association held a protest meeting at the municipality premises around 11 am today, Thursday, to protest the assault on the accountant of Rajbari Municipality.
The protest meeting strongly condemned and protested against the insult at the municipal office. At the same time, they demanded appropriate justice against former mayor of the municipality and president of Rajbari Municipal BNP Md. Tofazzal Hossain Mia.
The meeting was chaired by Rajbari Municipal Employees' Council Convener and Assistant Tax Assessor Md. Nurunnabi Babu, while the disgraced accountant Md. Moklesur Rahman, Municipal Executive Officer Md. Tayeb Ali and Municipal Employees' Council Convener Md. Nurunnabi Babu spoke.
At that time, Municipal Executive Officer Md. Tayeb Ali said, "How could a former mayor raise his hand against an on-duty employee in front of me? As far as I know, both of them were arguing and accusing each other of corruption in the municipality. The former mayor came to the municipal office in a very agitated situation and called the accountant. He wanted to grab his collar and take him to the DC office. Such behavior is not desirable from a leader and public representative like him. We condemn this incident and demand justice."
Municipality accountant Md. Moklesur Rahman said, "I have only been in the job for about three months. I cannot forget such an unexpected incident. He is my relative, and efforts are being made to resolve the matter as a family. However, there is no opportunity to withdraw my complaint filed with the police station until a fair resolution is reached."
Rajbari Municipal Employees' Association Convener and Assistant Tax Assessor Md. Nurunnabi Babu said, "We will continue the movement until this incident is judged. Even if they are relatives, it is their family matter. So, they will come to the office and insult us, and we will accept it, that will not happen." We strongly condemn and protest such behavior of former mayor Tofazzal Hossain Mia and demand justice.
It has been alleged that former mayor of the municipality and Rajbari Municipal BNP president Tofazzal Hossain Mia physically assaulted accountant Md. Moklesur Rahman in front of officials and employees in the municipal executive officer's room on Wednesday (April 9) at around 11 am. Later in the afternoon, he filed a general diary (GD) with Rajbari Sadar Police Station. However, they were related as cousins.
