Ex-IGP, ex-KMP commissioner sued in Khulna

A court here on Thursday filed a case against 19 Police officers including ex-Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun and ex-Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner (KMP) Mozammel Haque.
Al Amin, judge of the Khalishpur Contingency Metropolitan Magistrate Court, ordered the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khalishpur Police Station to investigate the FIR after recording it within the next 24 hours.
The Judge also asked to place the investigation report before the court very soon.
Anisa Siddika, wife of ex-deputy director of Khulna divisional Islamic Foundation, filed the case before the court as plaintiff, Advocate Alamgir Shikder, lawyer of the plaintiff, confirmed.
According to the case statement, IGP Mamun and KMP Commissioner Mozammel directs a team of the police led by the then Assistant Commissioner Kanjilal Gopinath and OC of Khalishpur Police Station Munir-ul-Gias illegally entered Anisa's father residence at Hazi Foyez Uddin Road of Khalishpur area on August 20, 2023 following a status of Tanzilur Rahman, Anisa's son and a researcher of Michigan State University of America.
He posted a status on social media on August 17 in 2023 centering the death of Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi that he did not involved with Bisa Bali killing case which was confessed by the witnessed Sukhranjan Bali, brother of Bisa Bali, during his [Sayedi] namaz-e-janaza, it said.
After entering the house, members of the law enforcement agencies vandalized various furniture, hurled abusive words and left the place with three laptops and four mobile phones, the statement added.
