2 detained for black marketing train tickets in Kishoreganj

The Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested two persons along with 19 tickets of 70 seats of intercity trains. They were arrested from a separate place near Kishoreganj railway station on Thursday night. The two arrested are Abdur Razz alias Shabu Mia (60) son of Hasu Bepari in East Tarapasha area in the town and Tapu Burman (30) son of Gopal Burman in Baruha village of Tarail Upazila.
According to GRP sources, based on intelligence, a team of railway police arrested Abdur Razzak alias Shabu Miah first with four tickets of 15 seats of the train from Battala area of the railway station.
Based on the information given by him, a neighboring raided a shop on Wali- Newaz Khan College Road around 9:30 pm. Tapu Burman was arrested from there along with 15 tickets of 55 seats, a scanner printer and a computer.
GRP's SP in Dhaka, Md. Anwar Hossain said, during preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused admitted that they used the NID of acquaintances to collect multiple tickets online. Later, he sold it to passengers at twice the actual price by advertising on various Facebook pages.
They sell tickets worth 150 taka for 300 to 350 taka. In this regard, a regular case has been filed at Kishoreganj Railway Police Station under the Special Powers Act of 1974 on Friday morning", SP in GRP added.
