HSC result re-evaluation: 101 students pass, 61 achieve GPA-5

The Chattogram Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has announced revised results for the 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, with an additional 101 students passing and 61 students now achieving a GPA of 5.
This adjustment follows a comprehensive re-evaluation, affecting a total of 557 candidates’ results.
On Thursday, November 14, the Chattogram Education Board published the re-evaluation results. Professor AMM Mujibur Rahman, Controller of Examinations, reported that 22,324 candidates had requested re-evaluation of 68,271 answer scripts. As a result, 1,846 scripts showed changes, leading to an improvement in outcomes for several students, including those who moved from failing to passing, and others who attained a GPA-5. Additionally, marks were increased for 71 students, though they remain in the fail category.
The re-evaluation application period ran from October 16 to October 22.
In the 2024 HSC examinations under the Chattogram Education Board, 106,298 students from 282 institutions appeared for the exams. According to the original results, released on October 15, 74,125 candidates passed, marking a pass rate of 70.32%, with 10,269 students earning a GPA of 5.
