Eviction drive by Forest Department in Sreepur; Jamaat-e-Islami stands by victims

A joint team comprising the army, police, and forest department officials conducted an eviction drive in the Saitalia and Taltoli areas under the Satkhamair Forest Beat of Sreepur Upazila, Gazipur.
The operation, carried out on Saturday targeted illegal settlements built on government-owned forest land after August 5. Structures constructed after that date were demolished during the drive.In an effort to stand by the destitute and helpless families affected by the eviction, Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, the Ameer of the Gazipur district branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the party's nominated MP candidate, visited the evicted areas on Tuesday morning (April 28). He was accompanied by Maulana Nurul Islam, Ameer of Sreepur Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami; Assistant Secretary of the Upazila branch, Principal Abul Kalam Azad; and Maulana Zobair Sarkar, Ameer of Telihati Union Jamaat-e-Islami, among other party leaders and activists.During the visit, Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam said,
"Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has always stood by the oppressed and persecuted people and will continue to do so. Out of humanitarian responsibility, we have come here today to inquire about these helpless families and share in their suffering. InshaAllah, we will try our utmost to stand beside them and provide all possible assistance."Maulana Nurul Islam, Ameer of Sreepur Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami, said, our hearts ache witnessing the plight of these impoverished and helpless people. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami continues to work for the welfare of humanity. During this time of crisis, we firmly pledge to stand by them.
During the visit, Jamaat-e-Islami leaders spoke to the affected families and assured them of their support to the best of their abilities. The humanitarian efforts of Jamaat-e-Islami were widely praised by the local residents.Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami believes that standing beside people during humanitarian crises is the true essence of politics. Upholding this principle, the organization remains steadfast in its dedicated service to the welfare of the people.
