A coordination meeting was held with local stakeholders at the Transparency Conference Room in Gopalganj district to conduct awareness and publicity activities about the Village Court program on  Sundy  afternoon.

The coordination meeting was held with the honorable District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman present as the chief guest. In his speech, the Deputy Commissioner stated that representatives from various government and non-government organizations who were present here must disseminate information about the Village Court to stakeholders they work with at the grassroots level.

He emphasized that especially the benefits of the Village Court must be delivered to the marginal population. The Deputy Commissioner further said that NGOs working with credit programs must spread Village Court information among their beneficiaries.

The meeting was presided over by Bishwajit Kumar Pal, Deputy Director of Local Government. In his speech, the president said that in order to spread the activities of the Village Court to everyone, your cooperation is essential. The stakeholders present here operate various activities at the upazila and union levels.

You must include information about Village Court benefits in your existing activities to reach the general public. He also said that the Village Court has been established to ensure justice for ordinary people. And the most notable point is that there is no cost involved in the Village Court. The fee for criminal cases is 10 Taka and for civil cases, 20 Taka — through which disputes worth up to BDT 300,000 (three lakh Taka) can be resolved.

It is worth mentioning that a total of 40 people attended the coordination meeting, including heads of various government departments and representatives from various NGOs in the district.
