Wood seized during smuggling in Kaptai

Kaptai Pulpwood Garden Department and Thana Police conducted a joint operation and seized the wood along with the vehicle while smuggling late on Saturday night.
Raikhali range officer said at half past one on Saturday night. Jahidul Islam and OC Chandraghona Police Station Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury conducted a joint operation and seized teak Golkata worth about Tk 3 lakh along with Chand's car.
Raikhali Forest Range Officer Zahidul Islam said that the amount of wood was seized in a raid in Siddharghona Marmapara area of the union based on secret information.The timbers have been handed over to the Bangalhalia Forest Bit cum Check Post.
A forest case has been registered in this regard. Such joint operations will continue, said the forest range official.
