45,000 pieces of yaba seized in Teknaf

Some 5,000 pieces of Yaba have been seized in the operation of the Coast Guard in Baharchara of Teknaf. Lieutenant

Commander Khandaker Munif Taqi, media officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters, gave information on Thursday noon.

He said, based on secret information, a team of Bangladesh Coast Guard conducted a special operation at Kachchapia Ghat area of Baharchhara Union of Teknaf today at approximately 4:30 am. During the raid, some persons were signaled to stop by torch lights and whistles when their movements appeared suspicious at Jhaubne, adjacent to Kachpiya Ghat.

When they realized the presence of the Coast Guard, they dropped 1 sack inside the boat and ran away. Later, 45,000 pieces of Yaba and 1 indigenous weapon (Ramada) were seized after searching the bag.

He also said that the seized Yaba and indigenous weapons were handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station to take further legal action.
