National Film Award-winning actor Azmeri Haque Badhon will star in a new Tollywood film titled “Fair and Ugly”. Directed by Prasenjit Biswas, the anthology film will be Badhon’s third project in India.

According to a Kolkata-based daily, the anthology film has five stories and Badhon will be seen in one of them. “Farzi”-famed actor Saqib Ayub and Deboprasad Halder will star with Badhon. The shooting of the Bandhan-starrer project is likely to start in Kolkata in the middle of May. She is already preparing to visit Kolkata.

Tollywood actors Parno, Samrat, Rituparna Sengupta, Kaushik Sen, and Mumtaz will be seen acting in the different stories in “Fair and Ugly”.

Badhon made her debut in the Indian showbiz with the web series “Robindronath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Aashenni” (REKKA), directed by Srijit Mukherji. After that, she debuted in Hindi film through “Khufiya”. She was seen opposite noted Bollywood actor Tabu in the web-film.

On the other hand, Badhon will be seen next in Sunny Sanwar’s directorial film “Esha Murder: Karmaphal”. The movie is scheduled to be released on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. The actor also completed the work of the film “Master”, directed by Rezwan Shahriar Sumit.

Badhon started her media journey after being the 2nd runner-up at the “Lux Channel i Superstar” in 2006. She has appeared in a number of TV projects. Later, she made her film debut with “Nijhum Oronney” in 2010 along with Ilias Kanchan and Champa.

She got her breakthrough acting in “Rehana Maryam Noor” (2021), the first officially selected Bangladeshi film in the “Un Certain Regard” section of the 74th Cannes Film Festival. Badhon won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress, the 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in the “Best Actress” category and the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival award in the New Talent category for this film.
