Boro paddy harvest starts in Sylhet

Harvest of Boro paddy has started in the Sylhet district . About 10 per cent of the total crop has been harvested so far, officials said.
Farmers are expecting good yield this season due to favourable weather.
This year, Boro paddy was cultivated on 85 thousands 850 hectares of land in Sylhet districts of the division.
The harvest has also started in Sylhet districts, especially in Gowainghat, Companiganj,Balaganj. Fenchuganj and Osmaninagar upazilas.
DAE officials said the farmers in remote areas in the haor (low lying areas) have already been asked to harvest the paddy as soon as possible as the farmers may face trouble due to possible rains or stormy weather.
