Operation of upazila administration to de-occupy Mahasthan underpass

Shibganj upazila administration has launched an operation to clear Mahasthan underpass of Bogura-Rangpur highway from illegal encroachment within 24 hours of media release. Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Tahmina Akhtar conducted an operation at the Mahasthan underpass on Thursday afternoon.
Regarding the operation, Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Tahmina Akhtar said that watermelon business was established by occupying Mahasthan underpass and road. As a result, this underpass turned into a wasteland of rotten and spoiled watermelons.
Rotten watermelons were dumped under the underpass causing the stench. As a result, pedestrian and traffic problems were being created. Traders have been instructed to clear the underpass of illegal encroachment quickly.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tasnimuzzaman was present on the occasion. It is noted that the Mahasthan underpass of Shibganj upazila was illegally occupied by watermelon traders, fish traders for a long time and was occupied by autovan and CNG drivers.
