Endangered owl rescued in Cumilla, trafficker arrested

A team of Cumilla District Detective Police (DB) arrested a smuggler along with an endangered owl while taking it for trafficking in Cumilla on Monday early morning.
The owl was rescued from a passenger bus and the smuggler was arrested by raiding Hotel Green View in Miabazar of Chouddagram Upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
The arrested person is Md. Jewel Rahman Sohel (27). His house is in Hafiznagar area of Ward No. 17 of Khulna City Corporation. Additional Police Superintendent Rajan Kumar Das confirmed the matter at 1.30 pm on Monday. Rescue of an endangered owl in Cumilla -trafficker arrested.
Police Officer Rajan Kumar Das said that on receiving tip-off, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (DB) Rajan Kumar Das, Detective Police Officer-in-Charge Rajes Barua conducted an operation with his team. Later on Tuesday afternoon, Sohail was arrested and sent to jail through the court.
