Bangladesh Editors' Forum terms US envoy's remarks on inclusion of media in visa policy as interference to press freedom

Bangladesh Editors' Forum has termed the comments of US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas on inclusion of meda as an unexpected intervention to freedom of press.
A statement signed by the Convenor of the Forum Rafiqul Islam Ratan said, the United States of America believes in freedom of expression but the remarks of the Ambassador is contrary to the US stand on freedom of press.
The statement also said, the media in Bangladesh always speaks for human rights and democracy and we expect that a free and fair election will be held which the people desired.
