Shibganj Upazila Parishad election candidates who have submitted their nominations

A total of 14 candidates have submitted their nominations for the Shibganj Upazila Parishad elections of the 3rd phase, including four for the post of chairman.
This information was known from the election office on the last day of filing nominations on Thursday.
A total of four candidates filed their nominations including 1 woman candidate for the post of chairman. They are the current Upazila Chairman Firoz Ahmed Riju, Upazila Awami League President Mostafizar Rahman Mosta, Fatema Begum and Bogura District Youth Solidarity General Secretary Hussain Sharif Sonchai. Hussain Sharif is the nephew of current chairman Feroz Ahmed Riju and son of local MP Shariful Islam Jinnah.
5 candidates filed nominations for the post of Vice Chairman. They are Abdul Baki, Abdullahel Shafi Talukder Suman, Arif Pramanik, Shahnewaz Bipul and Ganesh Prasad Kanu.
5 candidates have filed their nomination for the post of female vice chairman. They are Jannati Akhtar Tumpa, Tanjila Akhtar Popy, Bobita Ferdowsi, Ruli Bibi and Shahana Khatun.
Additional district election officer and returning officer Syed Abu Sayed said that the nomination and selection process of candidates will be held on May 5. The deadline for withdrawal is on May 12 and voting will be held on May 29.
