Adviser Farida oversees Mother Hilsa Conservation Campaign in Padma, Meghna rivers in Chandpur

Farida Akhtar, Advisor to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, supervised the operation at the Padma and Meghna river sanctuaries in Chandpur to preserve mother hilsa.

She visited the Padma and Meghna rivers in a speedboat on Tuesday morning.

It is learned that the adviser traveled from Mawa Ghat to Elisha Ghat in Bhola Sadar in the morning. On the way, he oversaw the activities of hilsa conservation campaigns including hilsa habitats located in the Padma and Meghna rivers in Shariatpur, Barisal and Bhola districts along with Chandpur by speed boating on the ground.

Assistant Superintendent of Police of Chandpur Naval Region, Imtiaz Ahmed, said that the adviser and his tour companions supervised the activities of Ma Hilsa conservation and shelter area. This hilsa ban will play an important role in increasing the fishery resources of the country by ensuring the breeding of mother hilsa.

During the visit to the hilsa sanctuary located in the Meghna river in Chandpur, District Fisheries Officer Md. Gholam Mehdi Hasan, Sadar Assistant Commissioner Bhoomi Md. Al Imran Khan, Chandpur Naval Zone Assistant Superintendent of Police Imtiaz Ahmed, Coast Guard Chandpur Station Commander Fazlul Haque.
