Khulna Divisional District Information Office organized a meeting on the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine campaign at the district level on Tuesday noon at the meeting of the Zilla Shipokala Academy.

The chief guest at the meeting was Deputy Chief Information Officer of Khulna Regional Information Office Javed Iqbal.

Khulna Divisional District Information Office Director Gazi Zakir Hossain was the special guest on the occasion.

Md Kausar Hossain chief of UNICEF Field Office, Amena Khanam, Assistant Director of the District Information Office and Assistant Inspector of the District Education Office, Mahbuba Farhana Naznin. Senior Health Officer of the Civil Surgeon's Department Md. Abul Kalam Azad presented the article at the meeting.

It was informed at the meeting that the campaign will run for four weeks in seven departments and city corporations and municipalities except Dhaka from October 25.

During the fifth to ninth grade students and non -educational institutions of the age group of 3 to 5 years will be given free HPV vaccine for free. Adolescents studying in certain ages and prescribed classes can register on the www.vaxepi.gov.bd website and collect vaccades. Later, you have to take the dose of the vaccine by showing that card.

Every year, six million women in the world suffer from uterine cancer. About 3 lakh 12 thousand died. Cancer is the second highest in women in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, 1 lakh women are infected with cancer. About 4,000 women die of the disease every year.

The meeting also informed that the vaccine will be provided at the educational institutions and permanent centers for the first 5 days. The vaccine will be provided in the temporary and permanent centers of the community for the next eight days. The HPV campaign will run from 8 am to 3:30 pm every day except Friday and public holidays.

Teachers, girls' guides, scouts, students and adolescents of various educational institutions participated in the meeting.
