Wrong treatment : Patient's death at Tongibari clinic , probe body formed

A pregnant woman and her unborn child have been accused of dying due to wrong treatment in Tongibari, Munshiganj. The incident has created a stir in the district after it was reported in local and national media.
In view of the incident, a four-member investigation committee signed by the district civil surgeon was formed on Monday. The committee has been instructed to submit a report within the next seven working days.
According to local sources, the incident took place at a private clinic called Tongibari Clinic and Diagnostic Center in the upazila. The family alleged that both the mother and child died due to injection given to the patient and medical negligence. There is anger and tension in the area over this.
The head of the investigation committee, Dr. Jamshed Faridi, said, "The incident is being viewed with great seriousness. An investigation is underway to uncover the exact cause. The report will be submitted within seven working days."
District Civil Surgeon Dr. ATM Obaidullah said, necessary legal action will be taken after the investigation.
