
'Rashtra Sanskart Krishak Andolan' holds rally in Kurigram protesting artificial fertilizer crisis

During the current Aman season, a group of unscrupulous traders in various areas of Kurigram are creating an artificial shortage of fertilizer and selling it to farmers at a higher price than the government-set price. Protests and human chains have been held in the district in protest on nTuesday noon
The hour-long human chain was organized by the Kurigram district branch of the 'Rashtra Sanskar Krishak Andolan' at Shapla Chattar in the district town. Farmers and other dignitaries participated in it.
The protest rally was addressed by Md. Ariful Islam Jewel, central organizing secretary of the 'Rashtra Sanskar Krishak Andolon', Md. Montaz Ali, convener of Kurigram district branch, Member Secretary Rezaul Islam, joint convener Md. Morshed Alam, and Md. Faruk Hossain of Bhogdanga Union branch. Moderated by Md. Saiful Islam, Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Enam Raju, among others, spoke. Md. Rafiqul Islam presided over the program.
The speakers said that farmers are in extreme trouble due to the violence of the fertilizer syndicates. They are forced to buy fertilizer at a higher price than the government-set price. Unscrupulous traders are creating an artificial shortage of fertilizer and selling it at a higher price. Farmers are being harmed by this. Urgent measures must be taken immediately, the speakers said, seeking the attention of the administration including the concerned authorities.
At this time, the slogan 'Wake up and unite farmers' was raised, calling on all farmers to unite.
Later, the leaders of the 'Rashtra Sanskar Krishak Andolan' submitted a memorandum to the District Commissioner's office demanding three points of demand.
