Youth arrested in Jaintapur for violating child

A youth has been arrested on charge of alleged outraged of an 11-year-old boy by luring her with TikTok videos on a mobile phone and taking him to his residence at Jaintapur in Sylhet.
The detained youth, identified as Saddam Hossain, is the son of the late Babul Hossain from Narsingdi district. Saddam Hossain has been living for a long time at his uncle Robiul Islam’s house in Baon Haor village, Jaintapur Upazila.
According to the victim’s family and locals, on July 12, Saturday, at around 2 p.m., the fifth-grade schoolboy was playing near his home. The accused lured the child with TikTok videos on his mobile phone and took him to his residence, where he violated him. Later, when the child fell ill and returned home, he informed his parents about the incident. The victim’s parents informed the local Union Parishad member Abdul Kadir and other community members, who detained the accused Saddam Hossain around 1:30 a.m. and informed the Jaintapur Model Police Station. Upon receiving the information, Sub-Inspector Md. Lutfor Rahman of Jaintapur Model Police Station visited the scene on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and arrested Saddam.
Sub-Inspector Md. Lutfor Rahman confirmed that on Monday, July 14, the victim was sent to the One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for a medical examination.
The victim’s father, Md. Hafiz Uddin, filed a case against the accused under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act at Jaintapur Model Police Station.
