
We want to keep university admin out politics : DU VC

Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said, we want to reduce our dependence on the government, otherwise, our backs will be bent due to various pressures.
These pressures will be evident during the party government. We want to keep the university administration out of politics."
The Vice-Chancellor also said these at a ceremony to hand over a cheque of Tk 1 million by Al Arafa Bank Limited for the 'Floor Expansion Project' of the University's Statistics Department at the lounge adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor's office on Sunday.
At this time, Dhaka University Treasurer Prof Dr. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, National University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Md. Lutfar Rahman, Chairman of the Department of Statistics Prof Dr. Zafar Ahmed Khan, Professor Saema Sharmin, Al Arafa Bank Acting MD Rafat Ullah Khan and DMD Abdul Al Mamun, along with various officials of the bank, were present.Thanking the officials of Al Arafa Bank Limited, the Vice Chancellor said, "There is no room to view this as a check. I think our relationship began with the handover of this check. We want to make this relationship longer and more sustainable."Addressing the alumni, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said, "We want to have normal and social relations with you. You will come. We will go to you. There will be a connection between us. Through which a social relationship will be developed. Day by day, we have isolated the universities from the society. We have to bring the universities out of there. We want to institutionalize these relations. If we make a mistake, we will do it together. If we make a right decision, we will do it together. There will be no blame game."
