
Training course for police inaugurated in Kushtia ahead of national elections

With the upcoming National Parliamentary Elections in focus, a three-day long training course on skill and capacity building has been inaugurated at the Kushtia In-Service Training Center.
The program, aimed at ensuring impartial and efficient performance of electoral duties, began on Sunday with the formal inauguration of its fourth phase and first batch by the esteemed Superintendent of Police of Kushtia Md. Mizanur Rahman.
Police personnel ranging from constables to inspectors are participating in the training course. The program covers crucial aspects such as maintaining law and order during elections, ensuring the safety of polling centers and voters, safeguarding voting rights, and upholding neutrality while discharging duties.
During the opening ceremony, SP Md. Mizanur Rahman said , “Performing duties during a national election is a solemn responsibility. Police play a vital role in strengthening the democratic process of the country. Therefore, the knowledge and skills gained from this training must be applied properly in the field.”
He further emphasized that every police member must maintain patience, discipline, and professionalism while carrying out their duties to earn the trust of the people. He also stressed the importance of being particularly vigilant to prevent any disorder or irregularities during the electoral process.
Senior officials of the district police were also present at the event. Speakers expressed optimism that the lessons and experiences from this training would make participating police officers more skilled, aware, and confident in discharging their electoral responsibilities.
It is mentioned that this training program will continue in phases to ensure the participation of all police personnel in the district.
