Training, view exchange held with international students at GAU We want to make GAU a global hub for higher education :VC

A training and exchange of views meeting titled “Green Campus, Global Minds: International Students Shaping the Future of GAU” was held with international students studying at Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU).
The program was organized by the university’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and held on Thursday afternoon at the IQAC Seminar Room. International students from Pakistan, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Nepal, studying at the BS, MS and PhD levels at GAU, participated in the event.
Speakers at the program included Professor Dr. G.K.M. Mostafizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Gazipur Agricultural University; Md. Nurul Karim Bhuiyan, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Gazipur; Prof Dr. Md. Shafiul Islam Afrad, Treasurer; Prof Dr. Mohammad Saiful Alam, Proctor; Prof Dr. Md. Amzad Hossain, Director of International Affairs; and Prof Dr. Mohammad Shafiqul Alam, Associate Director of International Affairs.
The event was chaired by Prof Dr. Nasrin Akter Ivy, Director of IQAC.
Among others, Professor Dr. Md. Masiul Islam, Director of Research; Md. Abdullah Mridha, Registrar; M. Rakibul Hasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) of Gazipur; Md. Arif Hossain, Assistant Commissioner (Media and Research Cell); and university teachers, officials and concerned persons were present.
At the beginning of the program, a visual documentary titled “Discovering GAU” was screened, highlighting the historical journey and achievements of the university. This was followed by an introduction session involving international students from different countries.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Sharif Raihan, Director of Student Welfare, delivered the opening remarks, welcoming the international students. Later, greeting souvenirs and awards were presented to the foreign students.
The speakers discussed various issues related to international students and the future development of the university.
Speaking on “A Global GAU is Emerging through the Engagement of International Students,” Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. G.K.M. Mostafizur Rahman said, “We want to develop ‘Global Minds’ with international students. But before that, we want to establish GAU as a ‘Global Hub’ for higher education for international students.”
He said the university would create an environment where students from different parts of the world could come to GAU and pursue their higher education safely, comfortably and with dignity.
One of the key speakers, Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Md. Nurul Karim Bhuiyan, spoke on “Green GAU: A Peaceful, Clean and Pollution-Free Campus.” He expressed the commitment of the Gazipur District Administration and Gazipur Agricultural University to work jointly to make Gazipur greener, more livable and pollution-free.
The program concluded with a group photo session with the international students and guests, followed by a dinner.
