Smear campaign against new Islamic Foundation DG alleged

The Bangladesh Dargah Mazar National Coordination Committee has strongly condemned and protested against the ongoing propaganda targeting the newly appointed Director General (DG) of the Islamic Foundation, Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqi. The organization has also warned of a strict movement against this conspiracy.
In a press release sent to the media on Thursday, Adv Sadrul Amin, Office Secretary of the Bangladesh Dargah Mazar National Coordination Committee, expressed this protest and warning.
In his statement, Adv Sadrul Amin said that as part of the ongoing merit-based restructuring across every level of the state structure following the end of the long-standing autocratic and fascist rule, Prime Minister Tarek Rahman has appointed Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqi to the post of Director General of the Islamic Foundation. Through this visionary decision, breaking a 54-year-old bureaucratic tradition, a genuine and wise Islamic scholar has been placed in this position.
Adv Sadrul Amin further mentioned that Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqi is highly educated in all three streams—Qawmi, Alia, and Dhaka University. He achieved first class in every stage, including Kamil, Dawra-e-Hadith, and a Master's degree from Dhaka University. However, due to political vengeance, the previous fascist group had deprived this international-standard wise scholar of promotions for 19 long years. The government led by Prime Minister Tarek Rahman has restored the due honor to this persecuted scholar.
In the statement, Advocate Sadrul Amin alleged that since this logical appointment, a vested interest group from Ahle Hadith, Salafi, La-Mazhabi, and Jamaat-e-Islami has been engaged in intense slander and conspiracy against the newly appointed DG.
He stated that these conspirators are spreading a ridiculous rumor claiming he passed Dawra-e-Hadith at just 13 years of age, whereas there was no existence of any formal certificate for Dawra-e-Hadith at that time. He claimed they are carrying out this smear campaign out of fear of losing the opportunity to spread their flawed doctrines and engage in financial corruption within the Islamic Foundation.
Noting that Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqi submitted his joining letter to the Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on June 7 but has not yet been officially handed over his responsibilities, Advocate Sadrul Amin sought the intervention of Prime Minister Tarek Rahman to resolve this administrative delay.
Adv Sadrul Amin warned that no blow to this justice-based decision of Prime Minister Tarek Rahman will be tolerated. If any conspiracy or attempt is made to cancel the newly appointed DG's assumption of responsibility, a strict movement will be built up on the streets, mobilizing all the country's peers, ulema, and ordinary devotees.
