Shibir gives reception to 129 GPA-5 achievers in Bauphal

Some 129 meritorious students who secured GPA-5 in the SSC, Dakhil and equivalent examinations-2026 in Bauphal, Patuakhali were felicitated and awarded. At the same time, the heads and representatives of the educational institutions of the students who achieved GPA-5 were also felicitated.
The reception was organized by the Bauphal Upazila branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Friday morning.
Local MP Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud joined the event virtually as the chief guest and spoke. Congratulating the meritorious students, he said that achieving GPA-5 is not the last achievement in life; rather, it is an important step on the path to great success in the future. Students will have to prove their worth in higher education by utilizing their talent and hard work. He also urged them to play a role in the welfare of the country and people in the future by developing themselves in morality, honesty and patriotism.
The main speaker of the program, Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) VP Sadiq Kayem, felicitated and awarded the students. He said that a student's education is not complete just by achieving good results. Along with merit, one must develop themselves in morality, ideals and human values. He called on the students to remember the sacrifices and hardships of their parents and develop themselves as worthy citizens to fulfill their dreams.
The speakers said that GPA-5 is not the final success of life; it is the first step to fulfill big dreams of the future. From now on, we have to move forward with specific goals, perseverance and honesty.
The event highlighted the education and career of Bauphal's talented son, Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, as an example of inspiration for the younger generation. The speakers urged the students to spread the fame of Bauphal at home and abroad through their own talents and abilities.
The event was presided over by Bauphal Upazila Student Union President Arif Hossain. Former Law and Dawah Affairs Secretary of Islami Chhatra Shibir Advocate Muntasir Mujahid, DUCSU Social Service Secretary AB Zubair, Career Development Secretary Md. Mazharul Islam, Human Rights and Legal Affairs Secretary Md. Zakaria, former Dhaka University Shibir President Md. Sharfuddin, Patuakhali District Shibir President KM Tamim, Bauphal Upazila Shibir Organizing Secretary Jobair Bin Abdul Muttalib, former Upazila Shibir President Atiq Nazrul and Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Rafiqul Islam, along with teachers, students, guardians and local journalists from various educational institutions of the upazila were present.
