Seminar on 'Industry-Academia Collabaration ' held at DU

A seminar titled Industry-Academia Collaboration was held at the seminar room of Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Thursday at nitiative of Dhaka University. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam was present as the chief guest at the seminar.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Abdus Salam presided over the seminar, while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani spoke as a special guest. The keynote address was presented by Professor Dr. Abdullah-Al Mamun, member of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission. Prof Dr. SM Hafizur Rahman, Director of IQAC, along with Deans of various faculties and Chairmen of various departments participated in the discussion.
Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam emphasized on further strengthening industry-academia cooperation in improving the quality of research at the university and said that the benefits of research should be made available to the common people.

In order to make Dhaka University a research-based university, he called on the university's alumni and industrialists of the country to come forward. He said that financial support in this sector needs to be further increased to conduct quality research at Dhaka University. In this regard, he sought the cooperation of industrialists and alumni.
