Adverse weather disrupts LNG transfer, cuts gas supply

The transfer of imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) from cargo vessels to floating storage regasification units (FSRUs) in Maheshkhali has been disrupted by adverse weather, reducing the supply of regasified LNG (RLNG) and overall gas supply.
Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla), in a press release on Thursday, said the disruption caused gas supply to fall somewhat below the normal level, according to a press release.
It regretted the temporary inconvenience caused by the disruption, describing it as “unavoidable circumstances.”
Petrobangla said gas supply will return to normal as soon as weather conditions in the Bay of Bengal improve.
