Dhaka Commerce College organized "Freshers' Reception 2026" for XI class students of the 2026-27 academic session in a festive atmosphere on the college auditorium premises on Thursday.

The grand reception was conducted in two sessions featuring student inductions, academic guidance, and cultural performances.

In the first session, newly admitted students of the Business Studies group were formally welcomed. Presided over by College Governing Body Chairman Bijon Kanti Sarkar, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka Professor Al-Amin attended the session as the chief guest, while Associate Professor of the Department of International Business at the University of Dhaka Dr. Mohammad Rakib Uddin Bhuiyan addressed the gathering as a special guest.

The second session welcomed newly admitted students of the Science group, presided over by Acting Principal of the college Professor Dr. Kazi Fayez Ahammad. Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel attended the event as the chief guest, while Professor of the Department of Physics at the University of Dhaka Dr. Md. Waheeduzzaman was present as a special guest.

Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar enriched the ceremony as a special honored guest.

Vice Principal (Administration) Abu Nayeem Md. Mozammel Hossain and Higher Secondary Admission Committee 2026 Convenor Mohammad Abdus Salam were present at the event alongside teachers and guardians.

At the onset of the program, new students were given a floral reception. Addressing the gathering, invited guests noted that Dhaka Commerce College is widely recognized across the country for strict discipline and quality education, encouraging freshers to pursue rigorous academic diligence to develop their talents and become ideal citizens. The ceremony concluded with a cultural program performed by students.
