A grand reception and the unveiling of a commemorative volume dedicated to veteran educationist and cultural activist Professor Muhammad Abdus Samad, popularly known as Prof MA Samad, will be held tomorrow, Saturday (August 29) at 3:00 PM at the Faridpur Shishu Academy auditorium.

Organized by the Faridpur Gunijan Mulyayan O Unnayan Gabeshona Kendra, the event is set to bring together eminent educationists, public representatives, social workers, and cultural personalities from across the country.

Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, Member of Parliament for the Faridpur-3 (Sadar) constituency, will grace the occasion as the chief guest. The event will also feature Member of Parliament for Faridpur-4 Md. Shahidul Islam Khan Babul, Faridpur District Council Administrator Afzal Hossain Khan Palash, and prominent social worker and Faridpur Muslim Mission College President Chowdhury Amer Yusuf as special guests. Dr. Md. Azizur Rahman, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Economics at Notre Dame University Bangladesh and former Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, will deliver the keynote address.

The afternoon program will commence at 3:00 PM with a formal inauguration through the release of balloons and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Following guest seating and the recitation of the Holy Quran, floral greetings and traditional uttoriyos will be presented to the chief guest, special guests, keynote speaker, honoree, chief advisor, president, and the contributors of the commemorative book.

Subsequent segments of the program include a welcome address, the official unveiling of the memoir, poetry recitations, musical performances, and the presentation of crests to the invited guests and Professor Samad. The ceremony will conclude with speeches and reflections from the keynote speaker, special guests, the honoree, the president, and the chief guest.

Professor ABM Sattar, the initiator and chief advisor of the event, noted that Professor Samad's life and works stand as a unique example in the fields of society, education, and culture. The newly published volume captures pivotal moments of his active career alongside heartfelt recollections and photographs documenting his life's journey. The organizers have earnestly urged the residents of Faridpur and well-wishers to attend the program with their families.

Principal Abdullah Al Mamun will preside over the ceremony, while overall coordination is being managed by the Faridpur Gunijan Mulyayan O Unnayan Gabeshona Kendra, with Professor Md. Munirul Islam serving as its general secretary.
