 Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur City branch arranged a vigorous gratitude prayer event at the release of central Jamaat leader and son of Rangpur ATM Azharul Islam at its party office in Shapla Chattar on Wednesday afternoon. 

Under the chairmanship of Rangpur City Ameer Vice-principal ATM Azom Khan, this event was conducted by Rangpur City Jamaat secretary Anwarul Islam Kazol where Professor Mhbubur Rahman Belal, the team member of Rangpur-Dinajpur region glorified the event attending as chief guest. Rangpur Jammat district Ameer Prof  Golam Rabbani, Secretary Maulana Anamul Haque, Rangpur City Nabebe Ameer Prof  Nur Hossain, Rangpur City Shromik Kollayan President Advocate Kawsar Ali, Jamaat City Jamaat Assistant Secretary Al-Amin Hassan, Rangpur City Tarbiat Secretary Maulana Shahjahan Siraj and other city leaders were present at the event.

In his speech the Chief Guest Professor Mahbubur Rahman said,” First of all we expressed our unlimited gratitude to Almighty Allah for his blessings that tortured Jamaat central leader and son of Rangpur ATM Azharul Islam finally released from jail. The high court declared him as innocent.

He also said, “For verdict of the high court it has again been proved that ATM Azharul Islam was not involved with any crimes against humanity.  Fascist Sheikh Hasina and her obedient court brought false charges against him only to kill him in the name of so called judgment. This fascist Sheikh Hasina and her culprit followers also killed our innocent Jamaat Leaders by judicial machinery. From this prayer event we demand to bring all the culprits under exemplary punishment who were involved in such kind of judicial killings.

It is noted that ATM Azharul Islam was charged with crimes against humanity during the liberation war 1971 and fascist Sheikh Hasina’s obedient court declared him sentenced to death. But the appellate division of Bangladesh high Court declared him innocent in a verdict on 27 May 2025.

Earlier, Rangpur City Jamaat arranged food distribution events to the orphanage under the initiative of Rangpur City Tajhat Thana.
