Prof Jahangir Alam appointed Pro-VC of BU

Md. Jahangir Alam has been appointed Pro-VC of Bangladesh University ( BU) says a press release.
The Ministry of Education has issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.
The President and Chancellor of the University for the next four years. Sahabuddin appointed him to this post.
According to the notification, according to section 31 (1) of the Private University Act, 2010, with the approval of His Excellency the President and the Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam was appointed as Vice-Chancellor.
Prominent educationist, internationally renowned researcher and former professor Dr. Md. Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BU Kazi Jamil Azhar congratulated Jahangir Alam.
Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam started his career in the Department of Fisheries in 1983. Joined Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute in 1985 and worked there as Chief Scientific Officer for about 27 years.
He joined Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University as a professor in 2011 and held additional duties of Dean, Head and Director. He won the National Award in 2009 for outstanding research achievements. He has published 103 journal articles so far.
