Hungary interested in expanding academic cooperation with DU

A Hungarian delegation paid a courtesy call on the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, with the aim of expanding higher education opportunities in Hungary for students and strengthening cooperation in education and research between the universities of the two countries.

The meeting was held at the office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) of Dhaka University on Wednesday afternoon.
The delegation included Dr. Diana Dachi, Counselor for Science and Technology at the Hungarian Embassy in Delhi, and Md. Sultanul Arefin, Chief of Staff at the Hungarian Consulate Office in Bangladesh.
During the meeting, higher education and scholarship opportunities in Hungary for Bangladeshi students, teacher-student exchange between universities of the two countries, and the possibility of launching joint education and research programs were discussed.
At that time, Dr. Diana Dachi said that there are 140 scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students in Hungary every year from undergraduate to postdoctoral level. Under these scholarships, various benefits including tuition fees, accommodation, healthcare and living expenses are provided. She also mentioned that there are opportunities to study in more than 660 subjects in Hungarian universities.
During the meeting, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Abdus Salam highlighted various areas of education and research at Dhaka University and said that this university has opportunities for education and research in various fields including science, engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science, biotechnology, genetic engineering, business education, economics and social sciences.
Both sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation in education and research between Dhaka University and Hungarian universities and utilizing international higher education opportunities for students.
