A flash procession in support of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was held in the Probortok Circle area under the Panchlaish police station in Chattogram on Sunday at around 11:30 pm.
The two-minute-long procession ended near the Badna Shah Mazar before dispersing. Police later conducted a raid and arrested two individuals—Jubo League leader Didarul Alam Didar and a banned organization member, Md. Sajib Hossain.
Panchlaish Police Station OC Mohammad Solaiman stated that the procession started from Probortok Circle and ended near the Badna Shah Mazar in just two minutes. Didarul Alam Didar, a former member of the Chattogram Sports Association and close associate of former mayor Azam Nasir, was arrested during an early-morning raid.
Chandgaon Police Station OC Md. Aftab Uddin reported that Sajib Hossain, affiliated with a banned organization, has multiple allegations against him, including involvement in an attack on anti-discrimination protesters in July-August. Efforts are ongoing to arrest others connected to the incident.
Observers believe this procession signals potential political unrest in the city. Police are maintaining heightened vigilance to ensure law and order.
