ASA exchange views with Sylhet journalists

Non-governmental development organization ASA had an exchange of views meeting with journalists in Sylhet.
This discussion was held at the Sylhet Press Club on Tuesday morning.
It was informed in the exchange meeting that the main goal of ASA programme is to improve the quality of life and economic liberation of the underprivileged and marginalized people.
Officials said, ASA's institutional efforts have been going on for more than four decades. They continue to strive to contribute to social development beyond the microcredit program.
Mentioning that ASA is the world's top self-reliant and self-financed microcredit service provider, officials said that Asha's loan balance in the loan program through 117 branch offices in Sylhet is Tk 1,100 crore.
Apart from this, it was also informed that Asha's education program, health care program are playing an important role in improving the quality of life of the poor and backward communities. The officials answered various questions of the journalists on these issues.
Asha Sylhet Divisional Manager. Sylhet Press Club President Ikramul Kabir spoke as the chief guest at the exchange meeting chaired by Ruhul Amin and moderated by Senior District Manager Taufiq Ahmed. ASA's Junior Assistant Director (Programme) spoke as a special guest.
Baharul Islam and General Secretary of Sylhet Press Club Mohammad Sirajul Islam. 30 journalists working in print and electronic media of Sylhet participated in the meeting.
ASA's Senior Additional Divisional Manager Md Amirul Islam and Md. Samsul Islam, District Manager Ala Uddin Ali and others present in the meeting.
