Sabuj Molla, the victim's husband, held a press conference to protest against the attempted rape and threats to his wife's life in Hodda village under Koyra police station in Khulna district. He raised such allegations through a press conference at Koyra Upazila Press Club at 10 am on Tuesday.

In a written statement in the press conference, he said that on Thursday 03/10/2024 ., while I was at my personal work in Khulna city, around 11.50 pm, my former acquaintance Rabiul Islam called me from Moba-01706-806565 and asked me where are you. Then I said that I am in Khulna. Then he says I have a talk with you to go to work in the kiln, when will you come home. Then I told him I will be late by 2/1 day. Then he said from me that you have taken 10,000/- (ten thousand) money, if you don't pay, then return the said money. Then I told him. When I come home, I will sit with you and decide whether to go to the furnace or return the money or not.

In the press conference, he further said that on the same date around 13.50 hrs my wife was sleeping at home with the door closed and my two daughters Alifa (10) and Aria (06) were playing in the yard in front of the house. Then Rabiul came to my house and said to my daughters, where is your mother? Then my daughter Alifa says my mom sleeps. Then Rabiul went to the door of the house and knocked on the door asking for water. Then my wife Jharna Khatun (25) sleepily asked my elder daughter to give water, when my daughter entered the house to give water, the said person entered my house with my daughter and my younger daughter also entered the house. When my elder daughter went to fetch water in a pitcher to give water, Rabiul grabbed my wife by the hand and threatened her not to speak, forced her to sit on the bed next to her and started fighting with her to rape her. Then my elder daughter Alifa screamed and the younger daughter continued to cry, my neighbor Khanjahan Ali's wife came forward and Rabiul left.

While leaving, he threatened that if this matter is known anywhere, he will end his life with his family. I want justice for the forced rape attempt through a press conference and I seek the full cooperation of the administration to prevent me and my family from threatening to kill me.
