
Passenger killed, two injured in jeep accident in Ruma

A passenger named Lalkap El Bom (40) was killed and two women—Jingpek Kim Bom (45) and Bhan Thwal Joal Bom (35)—were injured when a passenger-carrying "Chander Gari" lost control and overturned in Ruma, Bandarban.
The accident occurred on Monday evening in
Mualpi Para area under Paindu Union of Ruma Upazila.
The deceased, Lalkap El Bom, was a resident of Ward No. 7 of Paindu Union’s Mualpi Para and the son of Juam Bom. The injured are also residents of the same area.
According to police and eyewitnesses, the jeep was returning from the weekly market at Ruma Sadar with 10 passengers on board, heading toward Mualpi Para. Upon reaching the area, the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned. Lalkap El Bom died on the spot, and two others sustained serious injuries. Locals rescued the injured and took them to Ruma Health Complex.
Confirming the incident, Ruma Police Station OC Mohammad Sohrab Uddin said, one person was killed and two others were injured in the jeep accident. The deceased’s body was recovered from the scene and sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital, while the injured are currently receiving medical treatment.
