Over 200 students join journalism workshop at JnU

A day-long foundational journalism workshop was held at Jagannath University (JnU) on Tuesday.
The workshop was held at the university’s central auditorium and saw the participation of over 200 students from various departments.
The program was presided over by Imran Hossain, President of the Jagannath University Journalists’ Association, and moderated by General Secretary Mahatab Hossain Limon. The workshop featured prominent trainers, including Professor Dr. Shah Md. Nistar Jahan Kabir, Chairman of the Department of Film and Television, JnU; Senior Assistant Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Faiz Ahmed; Special Correspondent of Bangladesh Pratidin Manik Muntasir; and Multimedia Chief of Kaler Kantho Zakaria Ibn Yusuf.
The trainers discussed fundamental concepts of journalism, ethics, investigative journalism, and mobile journalism. They also shared their professional experiences and provided practical guidance to aspiring journalists.
Following the workshop, a quiz competition was held. Jannatul Bushra, a student of the Bangla Department, secured the first position, while Asaduzzaman and Sagar, also from the same department, achieved second and third positions, respectively. Rohan from the Department of Land Management and Law placed fourth, and Moin Uddin from the Islamic Studies Department claimed fifth place.
