Bangladesh’s disaster management now globally recognized: Disaster Management Secretary

Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Saidur Rahman Khan, has stated that Bangladesh’s proactive approach to disaster management has earned the nation global recognition.
"Geographically, we are situated in a region that is constantly vulnerable to natural disasters. However, the people of this country continue to progress by overcoming these challenges, and today, Bangladesh's name is discussed worldwide in the context of disaster management," the Secretary said.
He made these remarks while presiding over a coordination meeting with Divisional Commissioners at the Ministry’s conference room in the Secretariat on Sunday morning.
Highlighting the ministry's impact, Secretary Khan noted that the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief is working intensively on the development of rural areas and their people. "These initiatives are not only creating employment opportunities for marginalized populations but are also accelerating the rural economy," he added.
During the meeting, the Secretary expressed his sincere gratitude to the Divisional Commissioners for their dedicated and sincere efforts in responding to recent floods across the country.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioners from across the country and senior officials of the Ministry.
