
One killed, 2 injured in passenger bus collision in Sundarganj

Raju Mia (40), a passenger in a van, was killed when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Sonali Paribahan hit him in Sundarganj, Gaibandha. Two other people were injured in the incident.
The accident occurred at around 9:30 pm on Friday in the area adjacent to Sadar Mahila Dakhil Madrasa on the Gaibandha-Sundarganj road.
The deceased was identified as Raju Mia, son of the deceased Mecher Ali of Thalthala Bazar village in Dhopadanga union of the upazila. The injured are Alamgir Hossain (38), son of Abdur Rashid Mia Pramanik of Chandiapur village in Sadullapur upazila, and Atowar Rahman (60) of Kamapara village. Of these, Atowar Rahman was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
It is learnt from the locals that the van driver was heading towards Sundarganj with the van. At that time, the Sonali Paribahan Dhaka Metro-B-130 453 reckless passenger bus hit the van. The Sonali Paribahan passenger bus hit a passenger van, causing the van with the passengers to overturn. The passengers were injured in this. Later, the injured were rescued and Raju Mia died on reaching Sundarganj Upazila Health Complex. As the condition of the injured Ataur Rahman is critical, he has been sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.Confirming the matter, Sundarganj Police Station Second Officer Mominul Islam said that it was not possible to arrest the killer bus. However, no party has filed a case in this incident so far.
