New chairman, members of Khagrachhari Hill District Council assume office

The officials for the 11th interim council of the newly reconstituted Khagrachhari Hill District Council have assumed office on Sunday.
The newly appointed Chairman Mra Thowai Marma, along with 14 other new council members, formally took charge at a ceremony held in the conference room of the Khagrachhari Hill District Council.
Speaking at the event, newly appointed Chairman Mra Thowai Marma said, "I will strive to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to me by the government with honesty, dedication, and accountability. By ensuring the active participation of all communities in Khagrachhari, I want to work toward the holistic development of education, health, agriculture, communication, and infrastructure in this hilly region."
He further added, "Maintaining the continuity of peace, harmony, and development while valuing everyone's opinions, my primary goal will be to build a prosperous and advanced Khagrachhari. We will work together to transform the district council into a more effective and people-oriented institution aimed at elevating the living standards of the hill tract residents."
During the ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of the Council Elias Mehedi and Md. Rashedul Haque, Private Secretary to the Honorable Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, formally welcomed the chairman and members by presenting them with floral wreaths and traditional uttoriyo (stoles).
