To strengthen the village court, it is necessary to play an active role in simplifying its information management and digitizing it, said Mr. Khalil Ahmed, Divisional Commissioner of Barishal.

With the technical and financial assistance of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, UNDP and the European Union and the support of the Bangladesh Village Court Activation (Phase 3) project implemented by the Local Government Department, the opening ceremony of the 2-day training on village court information management was held at the Barishal office of the Bangladesh Computer Council with the participation of Union Parishad accounting assistant cum computer operators and UP administrative officers on Sunday.

The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Md. Mamun Khandaker. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director, Local Government Mr. Upma Farisa, Barisal Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ms. Farida Sultana, UNDP MIS Expert Arif Hossain, HR Expert Uma Das.

The chief guest said that to ensure justice for the people of the village, the village court process must be made easier. If the village court can be made digital, its monitoring process will be easier and more efficient. He hopes that as a result of this training, the participants will learn about computer-based village court management and later implement it in practice at the union level. In his speech as the chairman, Deputy Commissioner Md. Mamun Khandaker said that according to the Village Court Act 2006, village courts have to be implemented in every union. Today's training is only computer-based, and here good practice will be given on how to digitally store, monitor and implement village court information management.
