8 arrested in DB raids at two residential hotels in Choumuhani

The District Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested four men and four women from two residential hotels in Choumuhani Bazar under Begumganj upazila of Noakhali on charges of involvement in immoral activities.
The arrested men have been identified as Md. Sohag (40), son of the late Mostafa Mia of East Mirzanagar village in Sonaimuri upazila; Iqbal Hossain (42), son of Abul Kalam of Nazurpur village; Junaed (27), son of Ismail of Daulatpur village; and Md. Munna (23), son of Milon Uddin of Jahajmara village in Hatiya upazila.
According to police, the accused were produced before the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Sunday afternoon (August 30). Prior to that, the raids were conducted around 6:30 PM on Saturday at the Miamee and Skyview hotels located in the Choumuhani Bazar area under Choumuhani Pourashava.
Police stated that acting on directives from the Superintendent of Police and under the close supervision of the District DB Police Officer-in-Charge, the coordinated raids were carried out on the two hotels. Following the arrests, necessary legal actions were initiated against the suspects before sending them to court.
Confirming the matter, Mohammad Kamrul Islam, OC of Noakhali DB Police, said, "Based on confidential information, raids were conducted at two residential hotels in Choumuhani.
