National Fisheries Week inaugurated in Bandarban

Keeping in mind the theme of 'Rupali Fisheries, a self-reliant country, Bangladesh first', a rally, discussion meeting, fish fry release and prize distribution were held in Bandarban to mark the inauguration of the National Fisheries Week.
On Sunday morning, a colourful rally was organized by the Bandarban Hill District Council and the Fisheries Department from the District Council premises. The rally circled the main roads and ended at the same place.
Later, MP for Constituency No. 300, Saching Pru Jerry, released fry of various species of fish into the Zilla Parishad lake.
Then a discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony was held in the Zilla Parishad meeting room. Member of Parliament Saching Pru Jerry was present as the chief guest. Also present at the ceremony were Chittagong Divisional Fisheries Department Deputy Director Bishwajit Bairagi, Bandarban Hill District Council Executive Officer Abul Mansur, Additional Superintendent of Police Manna Dey, Zilla Parishad members, officials of various government and private organizations and fish farmers.
