
National Debate Festival ends at Udayan Higher Secondary School

The 3-day 1st National Debate Festival titled “First UDC Nationals-2025,” organized by the Debating Club of Udayan Higher Secondary School, concluded on Sunday.

The Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, attended the closing ceremony on the school premises as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions. The principal of Udayan Higher Secondary School, Mohammad Arifur Rahman, presided over the closing ceremony.The festival featured competitions including Bengali debates in the Asian Parliamentary format, English debates in the British Parliamentary format, impromptu speeches in both Bengali and English, and a quiz competition. Junaid Hossain, a Class XI student from Udayan Higher Secondary School, secured first place in the quiz competition. A total of 32 teams from various educational institutions participated in the Bengali debate, and 16 teams competed in the English debate. The debate team “GSCDC Neutron” from Government Science College, Dhaka, emerged as the champion in the Bengali debate, while the debate team “BISCDC-2” from Bangladesh International School and College won the English debate. In the Bengali impromptu speech, Imon Ahmed from Government Bangla College secured first place, and in the English impromptu speech, Adrita Ananya Zaman from Shamsul Haque Khan School and College took the top spot.
