Boro paddy procurement program inaugurated in Mirzapur

The paddy collection program from farmers has been inaugurated in Mirzapur, Tangail during the current Boro season.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer A.B.M. Ariful Islam inaugurated the programme at around 12:30 pm on Monday.Among others present at the time were Upazila Agriculture Officer Mahmuda Khatun, Food Officer Rebecca Sultana, Women Affairs Officer Sharmin Siddika, Food Warehouse Officer-in-Charge Humayun Kabir, Sub-Inspector Masud Rana and others.Food Warehouse Officer-in-Charge Humayun Kabir said that a target of 1,522 metric tons of paddy has been set for the current season.The price of paddy has been set at 36 taka per kg and 1,440 taka per maund. He said that 6 tons of paddy were collected directly from three farmers on the inaugural day.
