Uttara agriculturists pledge joint efforts for agri progress, national food security

Agriculturists residing in Uttara have pledged to work collectively to advance the nation’s agricultural sector and ensure sustainable national food security.
The commitment was voiced during a networking breakfast organized by the Uttara Agriculturists Association at a local restaurant in Sector 3 of Uttara in the capital on Friday morning. Approximately 300 agriculturists gathered at the event, which ran from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.
Presided over by President of the Uttara Agriculturists Association and proprietor of Supreme Seed Md. Masum, the program was conducted by the association's General Secretary and former Additional Secretary Dr. Abul Hossain.
During the function, formal felicitations were extended to Independence Award-winning agricultural scientist and former Director General of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) Dr. Mohammad Abdul Baqui, Chairman of the Barind Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA) Hasan Jafir Tuhin, and President of the Agriculturists Association of Bangladesh (AAB) Kamruzzaman Kaiser.
Prominent researchers, administrative officials, and representatives from academic and development institutions attended the gathering to discuss strategic roles for agricultural professionals in boosting national yield and supporting food policy implementation.
