JnU Chhatra Shibir assists student to get admission

Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Jagannath University (JnU) Unit, has come forward to assist Mainul Haque from Kurigram, who was unable to complete his admission process at Jagannath University for the 2024–25 academic year due to financial hardship.
Mainul is a resident of Dolatari village in the former enclave of Dasiyarchhara, located in the border area of Phulbari upazila, Kurigram. He earned a GPA-5 in the SSC examination from Gangarhat MAS High School in 2022 and again secured a GPA-5 in the HSC examination from Phulbari Degree College in 2024, both in the science stream. Despite severe financial struggles, this student from one of the largest former enclaves in the country continued his studies with determination.
After passing the university admission test, Mainul got the opportunity to study at Jagannath University. However, on the same day he received the good news, tragedy struck—his long-ill father, Lutfar Rahman, passed away that night. With the emotional trauma and financial crisis, Mainul’s dream of pursuing higher education faced uncertainty.
At this crucial time, Chhatra Shibir’s JnU unit stepped in. They brought Mainul to Dhaka, helped complete his admission process, and assured him of accommodation support.
Mainul said, “Members of Chhatra Shibir, along with other student organizations, contacted me and promised to support my admission and other needs. Today, Chhatra Shibir paid my admission fees. Other organizations are also staying in touch. I’m deeply grateful to everyone for standing by me.”
When asked about his accommodation, he said, “My uncle has offered me to stay with him, so I’m not currently worried about housing.”
Md Riazul Islam, Secretary of JnU Chhatra Shibir, said, “Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir always stands beside students. As soon as we learned about Mainul's situation, we reached out to him and his family. We brought him to Dhaka, completed the admission process, and assured him of accommodation. We’ve arranged his admission, and if needed, we will manage his housing as well, In Sha Allah.”
