Advocate Khandaker M. Moniruzzaman (Monir), a distinguished son of the historic Khandaker family from Moida Village under Amragachia Union No. 3 in Mirzaganj Upazila and the youngest son of the late Khandaker Abdul Kader, has been appointed as an Assistant Attorney General of Bangladesh.

The Government has appointed 86 Deputy Attorneys General and 179 Assistant Attorneys General, cancelling all previous appointments. The appointments were announced through separate notifications issued on Thursday by the Solicitor Wing of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

According to the official notification, by the authority vested under Article 3(1) of the Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972 (P.O. No. 6 of 1972), and with the approval of the Hon'ble President, all previous appointments of Deputy Attorneys General and Assistant Attorneys General have been revoked, and new appointments have been made.

Apart from his legal profession, the newly appointed Assistant Attorney General, Advocate Khandaker M. Moniruzzaman (Monir), has long been actively involved in social service through various organizations. He currently serves as Vice President of the Keraniganj Patuakhali District Association, Vice President of the Mirzaganj Upazila Welfare Association, Dhaka, former Member Secretary of the Mirzaganj Upazila Lawyers' Society, Dhaka, and Legal Adviser to the Dhaka-based popular online news portal Dainik Sangbad Bangladesh.

With his appointment as Assistant Attorney General under the Office of the Attorney General for Bangladesh, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Advocate Khandaker M. Moniruzzaman has become the first person from Mirzaganj Upazila to be appointed to this prestigious position.

Advocate Moniruzzaman completed his Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) and Master of Social Science from the University of Dhaka, followed by LL.B. and LL.M. (First Class) degrees. As an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, he has been dedicated to providing legal services and support to people from all walks of life while contributing to the advancement of justice and the rule of law.
